Bob Greacen
Robert Alexander Greacen (born September 15, 1947) is an American former professional basketball player. He grew up in South New Jersey, where he played high school basketball for Merchantville High School and helped lead Merchantville to the NJSIAA Group II state championship in 1965. In Greacen's three varsity seasons with Rutgers University, he scored 1,154 points. As a sophomore in 1967 he teamed with fellow Rutgers Hall of Famers Bob Lloyd and Jim Valvano to lead the team to a 22–7 record and the first-ever post-season appearance in Rutgers' basketball history. The Scarlet Knights finished third in the 1967 NIT. A 6'7" forward, Greacen was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 1969 NBA draft and by the Miami Floridians in the 1969 ABA draft. Merchantville is a borough in Camden County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 3,820, a decrease of one person from the 2010 census count of 3,821, which in turn reflected an increase of 20 (+0.5%) from the 3,801 counted in the 2000 census. Miami Floridians
The Miami Floridians, later in their history known simply as The Floridians, were a professional basketball franchise in the original, now-defunct American Basketball Association. The Miami Floridians played in the ABA from 1968 through 1970 when they became simply The Floridians. The team had two color schemes: their original red, blue, and white, and their later black, magenta, and orange. The Miami Floridians began as the Minnesota Muskies, a charter ABA franchise who played in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Met Center and wore blue and gold. The 1970 NBA playoffs was the postseason tournament of the National Basketball Association's 1969–70 season. The tournament concluded with the Eastern Division champion New York Knicks defeating the Western Division champion Los Angeles Lakers 4 games to 3 in the NBA Finals. Willis Reed was named NBA Finals MVP. It was the first NBA title for the Knicks in franchise history, and was their first appearance in the finals since losing their third straight finals in 1953 to the Lakers while they were still in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 1971–72 New York Nets Season
The 1971–72 New York Nets season was the fifth season of the franchise and fourth season in the state of New York after previously debuting in the ABA as the Brooklyn Nets, New Jersey Americans. They finished the season in third place among the six-team Eastern Division, qualifying for the 1972 ABA Playoffs by nine games over the fifth place Carolina Cougars and eight games over "Miami Floridians, The Floridians" franchise (who finished in fourth place in what later turned out to be their final season in that team's existence) for the third straight year. 1970–71 Milwaukee Bucks Season
The 1970–71 Milwaukee Bucks season was the third season for the Bucks. Milwaukee posted a 66–16 record in only its third year of existence, and its second since drafting Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). A key part of this championship season was the acquisition of Oscar Robertson. Other role players on the Bucks included players such as Bob Dandridge (18.4 ppg), Jon McGlocklin (15.8 ppg), power forward Greg Smith & key reserves such as Lucius Allen, Bob Boozer and Dick Cunningham completing the nucleus. This season included a 20-game winning streak, the NBA's longest at the time, and still ranked fifth all-time. The 1969–70 Milwaukee Bucks season was the second season for the Milwaukee Bucks. Led by the heralded rookie center Lew Alcindor, they finished with a 56–26 record, enough for second place in the Eastern Division. After beating the Philadelphia 76ers 4–1 in the Eastern semifinals, they lost to the eventual champions New York Knicks in five games.
