Bob Goodridge
Robert Wayne Goodridge (born May 11, 1946) is a former American football wide receiver who played one season with the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Vikings in the sixth round of the 1968 NFL Draft. He played college football at Vanderbilt University. Early years Goodridge was a four-year letterman in football, basketball and track at Wyoming High School in Wyoming, Ohio. He was a two-way starter his junior and senior years. He earned First-team All-Miami Valley Interscholastic League honors both seasons, was captain of the MVIL Offensive Team in 1963 and garnered WCPO First-team All-City defense recognition. Goodridge returned seven punts and one kickoff for touchdowns his last two seasons. He earned First-team All-City and Second-team All-Region honors in basketball. Wyoming High School (WHS) is a public high school located in Wyoming, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. The school is operated by the Wyoming City School District, in Hamilton County. 1968 NFL Season
The 1968 NFL season was the 49th regular season of the National Football League. Per the agreement made during the 1967 realignment, the New Orleans Saints and the New York Giants switched divisions; the Saints joined the Century Division while the Giants became part of the Capitol Division. The season ended when the Baltimore Colts defeated the Cleveland Browns in the NFL Championship Game, only to be defeated by the American Football League's New York Jets in Super Bowl III at the Orange Bowl in Miami. Subsequently, it was the first time in the history of professional football in which the NFL champion was not crowned as the world champion. One year later, this feat would be repeated, as the AFL champion Kansas City Chiefs defeated the NFL champion Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl IV. The Blue–Gray Football Classic was an annual American college football all-star game held in Alabama, usually in late December and often on Christmas Day. The brainchild of Alabama college football legend Champ Pickens, the contest began in 1939 and was held annually through 2001, with the exception of 1943 due to World War II. All of the games, except for the final contest, were played at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama, under the auspices of the Montgomery Lions Club.
