Bob Gallagher (baseball)
Robert Collins Gallagher (born July 7, 1948) is a former outfielder in Major League Baseball who played from through for the Boston Red Sox (1972), Houston Astros (1973–74) and New York Mets (1975). Listed at 6' 3", 185 lb., he batted and threw left-handed. His grandfather, Shano Collins, was a Major League outfielder/manager and a player in the 1917 and 1919 World Series. Gallagher attended Bellarmine College Preparatory before attending Stanford University and being selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round of the 1968 June Amateur Baseball draft. In a four-season career, Gallagher was a .220 hitter (56-for-255) with two home runs and 13 runs batted in in 213 games played, including 34 runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He had been teaching high school social studies for the last 25 years at Santa Cruz High School in Santa Cruz, California. Bob Gallagher (sportscaster)
Robert L. "Bob" Gallagher (1928 – July 3, 1977) was an American sportscaster and radio host who announced games for the Boston Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Early life Gallagher graduated from North Quincy High School in 1946 and Boston College 1951. After college, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served at General Douglas MacArthur's headquarters in Japan. He later earned a degree from Curry College and spent six years as a semi-pro basketball player. Broadcasting career In 1954, Gallagher landed as first broadcasting job at WNEB in Worcester, Massachusetts. He left the station in 1958 to call Boston College Eagles football games for WEEI. From 1960 to 1965, Gallagher was the radio play by play announcer for the Boston Patriots. He then spent a year as the sports director at WNAC-TV in Boston. Robert Gallagher (born 1969 in Kensington, England) is a commercial and editorial photographer currently based in Los Angeles, California. He has been awarded four times in the Communication Arts Photography Annual, named one of the 'Top 25 Photographers of 2016' by Creative Quarterly and is archived in The National Portrait Gallery in London. Education Gallagher attended the Newcastle School of Art and Design, inspired by the work of W. Eugene Smith, Don McCullin, Eamonn McCabe, Walter Loos and Richard Avedon's portrait work, particularly "In the American West".
