Bob Dro
Robert Chester Dro (October 12, 1918 – May 4, 2006) was an American basketball player and college athletic administrator. He was a starter on Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball's first championship team in 1940 and played one season in the National Basketball League. Dro, a 6'0" guard from Berne High School in Berne, Indiana, played for coach Branch McCracken at Indiana from 1938 to 1941. Dro was a three-year starter for them, including the Hoosiers' 1939–40 championship season. He was named first-team All-Big Ten Conference as a senior in 1941. Dro was also a standout on the baseball diamond in college. Following college, Dro played a season with the Indianapolis Kautskys of the National Basketball League (NBL), a professional league that would later merge with the Basketball Association of America to form the National Basketball Association. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Bluffton, Indiana
Bluffton is a city in Harrison and Lancaster townships, Wells County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 10,308 at the 2020 census and the estimated population is 10,390. The city is the county seat of Wells County. History Bluffton was platted in 1838 and incorporated in 1851 with 850 people, it was named for river bluffs near the original town site. The Bluffton post office has been in operation since 1839. The City of Bluffton is nicknamed the "Parlor City" for its history of having some of the first clean paved streets in the area during the time of the Trenton Oil boom. Most streets at the time were dirt. Pendleton, Indiana
Pendleton is a town in Fall Creek Township, Madison County, Indiana, United States. The population was 4,253 at the 2010 census. History Pendleton was platted in 1830, and incorporated as a town in 1854. It was named for town founder Thomas Pendleton. Frederick Douglass wrote of being attacked by a mob as he promoted the Abolition cause in 1843. His party had erected a platform in nearby woods. A crowd of "rough characters", largely from "Andersonville", tried to silence them, then severely beat them. He defended himself with a stick, but was knocked unconscious. He was nursed back to health over days by the Quaker Neal Hardy and his wife. Douglass never regained full use of his injured hand. 2019 tornado Pendleton was struck by a strong tornado during the evening of May 27, 2019, during a major tornado outbreak.
