Blushing (album)
''Blushing'' is the sixth studio album by American band Copeland. It was released on Valentine's Day 2019 via Tooth & Nail Records. It is the band's follow-up to their 2014 album ''Ixora'', as well as their second album released since their reunion. Background After the band finished touring in support of ''Ixora'', Copeland began working on ''Blushing'' in 2016. Once again, recording took place at Aaron Marsh's studio, The Vanguard Room, in Lakeland. Marsh himself would also serve as the album's chief producer and engineer, as he did on ''Ixora''. The album features contributions from singer-songwriter Young Summer, as well as a track featuring Ski Beatz and The 83rd. The album's first single was "Pope", which was released on November 1, 2018. A lyric video for the song was released a week later. Aaron Marsh
Aaron Marsh is an American musician and record producer from Lakeland, Florida. He first gained prominence as the lead singer, guitarist and pianist for the Florida-based indie rock band Copeland, who formed in 2000. Marsh has since gone on to numerous production projects, co-producing his own band's studio albums usually along with either Matt Goldman or Aaron Sprinkle. Marsh also has worked as a film composer in narrative film, as well as advertising. His credits include the 2013 film ''Worm'', the 2014 film ''A Bottle's Odyssey,'' and the 2018 film ''Shed.'' Marsh produced Anchor and Braille's debut album: ''Felt'', which was released on August 4, 2009. Copeland (band)
Copeland is an American rock band formed in 2001 by the singer, pianist Aaron Marsh (who also plays guitar) with his friend, the bass guitarist and backing vocalist James Likeness, in Lakeland, Florida. History Inception Aaron Marsh and Bryan Laurenson signed a record deal with the independent label The Militia Group in 2002 and released their first album, ''Beneath Medicine Tree'', a year later. In 2004, 2005 and 2006, they performed at the annual Cornerstone Florida Festival in Orlando, Florida. '' In Motion'', Copeland's second full-length album, was released on March 22, 2005. Lakeland is the most populous city in Polk County, Florida, part of the Tampa Bay Area, located along Interstate 4 east of Tampa. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish'', which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl. Subsequent releases from The Juliana Theory, MxPx, and Starflyer 59 made Tooth & Nail a strong force in Christian music circles, as well as a niche underground subculture in itself. ''Ixora'' is the fifth full-length album by Florida-based indie rock band Copeland. Pre-orders were made available on April 1, 2014, and the album was originally scheduled to be released on October 30, 2014. Due to issues during recording that prolonged its completion, the album's release date was postponed until November 24, 2014. ''Ixora'' was recorded and produced in Aaron Marsh's studio, The Vanguard Room, in Lakeland, Florida, and was mixed by Michael Brauer. In addition to the standard ten-track album, a twin, deluxe edition was also recorded and made available for purchase as part of a pre-order exclusive bundle. The twin edition is a double-disc set. Disc one is an extended version of ''Ixora'' that contains an additional bonus track, while disc two is an alternate version of the album. Bobbie Allen known professionally as Young Summer, is an American singer, songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Her first studio album, ''Siren'', was released in August 2014. The first single "Alright" from her follow-up EP, ''You Would Have Loved It Here'', was released in June 2016 to rave reviews. She lists Karen Carpenter, Carole King, David Byrne, David Bowie,and Prince as influences. David Anthony Willis, known professionally as Ski Beatz, is an American record producer from Greensboro, North Carolina, mainly working in hip hop. Biography Discovered by DJ Clark Kent, Ski was originally known as "MC Will-Ski" in the late 1980s.
