''Blunt Snowboard Magazine'' was an American snowboard magazine published in the 1990s. The magazine was established in 1993 and the founder was Ken Block. DC Shoes were the initial publishers of ''Blunt'', which mainly featured advertisements for new, small and independent companies. The magazine also featured regular submissions by skateboarder Ed Templeton and photos by Rob "Whitey" McConnaughy. Ken Block
Kenneth Paul Block (November 21, 1967 – January 2, 2023) was an American professional Rallying, rally driver with the Hoonigan Racing Division, formerly known as the Monster World Rally Team. Block was also one of the co-founders of DC Shoes. He also competed in many action sports events, including skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. After selling his ownership of DC Shoes, Block shifted his business focus to Hoonigan Industries, an apparel brand for auto enthusiasts. He was the co-owner and "Head Hoonigan In Charge" (HHIC) at the company before his death in a snowmobile accident in January 2023. His daughter Lia Block is also a racing driver now. Ed Templeton (born July 28, 1972) is an American professional skateboarder, contemporary artist, and photographer. He is the founder of the skateboard company, Toy Machine, a company that he continues to own and manage. He is based in Huntington Beach, California. Templeton was inducted into the Skateboard Hall of Fame in 2016. Early life Templeton was born in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, USA. His family lived in various places in Southern California before moving to Huntington Beach. He began skateboarding in 1985 in Huntington Beach, with friend, Jason Lee. Big Brother Magazine
''Big Brother'' was a skateboarding magazine founded by Steve Rocco in 1992, which was notable for ushering in street skating and the sub-culture of skateboarding. ''Big Brother'' ceased publication in 2004. The magazine often covered various taboo topics in addition to skateboarding. Early articles featured step by step suicide methods and rip-off schemes such as how to make a fake ID. It would also regularly employ odd gimmicks such as printing the magazine in different sizes, packaging it in a cereal box and including seemingly incongruous items such as trading cards and a cassette tape in the packaging. Early writers included Sean Cliver, Earl Parker (Thomas Schmidt), Jeff Tremaine, Marc McKee, Mike Ballard and Pat Canale.
