The Blue Party (Germany)
The Blue Party (german: link=no, Die blaue Partei) was a minor political party in Germany that existed from 2017 to 2019. It was founded by Frauke Petry after resigning as leader of the Alternative for Germany party (AfD). It entered candidates in elections to German state parliaments, but received few votes. The party dissolved itself at the end of 2019. History The party was registered with the Federal Returning Officer in September 2017 and published its program in the following month. Its policies were intended to attract voters who believed that the Christian Democratic Union of Germany had become too liberal under Angela Merkel and that the Alternative for Germany had become too nationalist. The Blue Party first stood for election in the 2019 Saxony state elections with Petry as its lead candidate. The party received 7,786 votes, which corresponds to 0.4% of the valid votes. The Blue Party ( es, Partido Azul), also known as the National Liberals and nicknamed together The Tailless ( es, Los Bolos), was a historical Dominican political party from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. Ulises Heureaux and Juan Isidro Jimenes Pereyra were the main leaders of this party in the 20th century, and were opposed to '' Los Coludos'' () or ''Red Party'', led by Horacio Vásquez. The name of the party came from the popularity of rooster fighting in the late 19th and early 20th century, and Bolos literally means ''Tailless''. The Blue Party was banned in 1930 after Rafael Trujillo’s coup. The Blue Party (french: Parti bleu) was a political group that contested elections in the Eastern section of the Province of Canada. The Blue Party was ideologically located on the political right, and was defined by its support for the Catholic Church, and later for supporting confederation. The party was formed in 1854 by conservative members of the former Reform movement, following in the tradition of Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine and Francis Hincks. The first leader of the Blue Party, George-Étienne Cartier, was the Premier of Canada East.
