Blue Orbit
Blue Orbit by Citrus Leisure is Sri Lanka's first and only revolving restaurant at the located on the 26th floor of the Colombo Lotus Tower, which is also South Asia's tallest restaurant. It is managed by Citrus Leisure PLC. Overview Blue Orbit is designed to accommodate up to 225 guests, with diverse selection of international cuisines, throughout the day. Operating from 11 am. to 11 pm, the lunch service is available from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm and there are two dinner sittings; 6:30pm to 8:30pm and 9pm to 11:30pm. In conjunction with Blue Orbit, Citrus Leisure PLC also opened the Cosmic banquet hall within the Colombo Lotus Tower. Citrus Leisure PLC is a hotel chain in Sri Lanka. The hospitality company owns and operates Citrus Waskaduwa, Citrus Hikkaduwa and the Steuart by Citrus. The company was incorporated as Hotel Reefcomber Limited in 1973. In 2010, the company was rebranded as Citrus Leisure when Dilith Jayaweera and Varuni Fernando of Triad Advertising bought a stake in the company. In 1984, the company was quoted on the Colombo Stock Exchange. History Citrus Hikkaduwa was incorporated in 1973 as Hotel Reefcomber Limited. Hotel Reefcomber was listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange in 1984. The hotel company was rebranded as Citrus Leisure PLC in 2010. Sri Lankan entrepreneur, Dhammika Perera acquired the hotel in 2004 for LKR26 million. Perera divested the hotel for LKR328 million in 2010. A revolving restaurant or rotating restaurant is a tower restaurant designed to rest atop a broad circular revolving wikt:platform, platform that operates as a large turntable. Lotus Tower
The Lotus Tower (Sinhala: නෙළුම් කුළුණ, romanized: Nelum Kuluna; Tamil: தாமரைக் கோபுரம், romanized: Tāmaraik Kōpuram), also known as the Colombo Lotus Tower, stands at a height of 351.5 meters (1,153 feet) in Colombo, Colombo, Sri Lanka. It has become a symbolic landmark for the country. As of 2019, the tower is the tallest self-supported structure in South Asia and the second tallest overall, behind the guy-wire-supported INS Kattabomman antenna tower in India. It ranks as the 11th tallest tower in Asia and the 19th tallest tower in the world.
