Blue Bridge, Wolverton
The Blue Bridge is an 1830s bridge over the West Coast Main Line near Wolverton in Milton Keynes (Buckinghamshire), England. Built to take a farm track over a new cutting for the (then) London and Birmingham Railway (L&BR), it was designed by Robert Stephenson, the L&BR's chief engineer and extended in the 1880s when the line was widened. It is a Grade II listed building. When a modern bridge was built alongside (to carry Millers Way over the line), it continued in use for a time as a shared path but, after being declared unsafe, is no no longer open for use. The name "Blue Bridge" is used for a small modern residential district that has been built on the farm land on the east side of the new cutting, to which the bridge provided access. Wolverton Works
Wolverton railway works, known locally as Wolverton Works or just The Works, was established in Wolverton (Milton Keynes), Wolverton, Buckinghamshire#Ceremonial county, Buckinghamshire, by the London and Birmingham Railway Company in 1838 at the midpoint of the route from London to Birmingham. The line was developed by Robert Stephenson following the great success of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway line. Milton Keynes Museum is an independent local museum in the parish of Wolverton and Greenleys in Milton Keynes, England. It is mostly run by volunteers with a small number of paid staff. The museum is housed in a former Victorian farmstead. It covers the history of the Milton Keynes area, including northern Buckinghamshire and southern Northamptonshire, from the year 1800 onwards. Wolverton Viaduct
Wolverton Viaduct is a railway bridge carrying the West Coast Main Line over the River Great Ouse to the north of Wolverton, part of Milton Keynes, in south-eastern England. Built in 1838 for the London and Birmingham Railway (L&BR) to the design of Robert Stephenson, it was the largest viaduct on the L&BR's route. It is in the centre of Wolverton Embankment, itself the largest on the line. Wolverton Works Canal Bridge
The Wolverton Works canal bridge, or Bridge no. 171C, is a bridge over the Grand Union Canal in Wolverton, Milton Keynes in south-eastern England. It carries a spur from the West Coast Main Line into Wolverton Works.
