Bloquera
''Bloquera'' is an EP created by Maanumental, Newman, Sir Kado, Superbrush 427 (Giant Panda) and Thes One ( People Under The Stairs). The group decided to take a spur of the moment road trip to Mexico as an ultimate road trip. The album was a result of a two-week road trip to Mulegé, Baja California Sur, Mexico which was the inspiration for the album. During their stay in Mulegé the group camped on the beach facing the Gulf of California where they fished for their meals, visited local taco stands, purchased produce from local farmers, and attended local baseball. They also filmed their trip using two Super 8 mm film cameras to document the trip. The video was released as a bonus DVD on People Under The Stairs' next album ''Stepfather''. Christopher Cesar Portugal (born October 18, 1977), best known as Thes One, is one half of hip hop duo People Under the Stairs, serving as a vocalist/ MC, producer, engineer and business manager. He has produced and engineered 8 albums for People Under the Stairs that have sold in excess of 100,000 units in the U.S. alone since 2000, have appeared on the U.S. and International ''Billboard'' charts numerous times, as well as numerous remixes and singles for other artists across the globe with numerous appearances as guest vocalist. As a business manager, he has coordinated and managed 21+ successful world tours for People Under the Stairs and co-founded the independent artist-run Tres Records label. Giant Panda (group)
Giant Panda is an underground hip hop group from Los Angeles, California. Giant Panda is composed of childhood friends Newman and Maanumental (hailing from Seattle), and Chikaramanga (a Tokyo native), with their foundation based out of Los Angeles, CA. The trio's name is simply an analogy to their ethnic and cultural make-up. The first single released was "88 Remix" independently in December 2002, with airplay across the globe. The follow-up to that was the acclaimed 12-inch single "With It" in September 2004 on Tres Records. "With It" received raves from print critics such as Chairman Mao from XXL. 2005 saw the release of Giant Panda's first full-length, "Fly School Reunion" (Tres Records). "Fly School Reunion" received great reviews in URB (4 1/2 stars), XXL, XLR8R, HHC, NME, and a plethora of other international magazines. ''Stepfather'' is the fifth album by the People Under the Stairs. The album signified a departure from the group's previous, Golden age hip hop sound, and the album introduced a more widely varied array of sample sources. The album also spawned two singles, "Tuxedo Rap" and "Pass The 40". Distribution of the album was handled in the United States by the local Los Angeles label Basement Records, and the release overseas was handled by Tres Records, a label co-founded by Thes One with Chikara Kurahashi from Giant Panda. Mulegé
Mulegé is a city in Mulegé Municipality, Baja California Sur, situated on the Gulf of California. Located on the Gulf of California, the population was 3,821 according to the Mexican census of 2010. History Indigenous peoples had lived in this area for thousands of years due to the abundance of water in the river valley. Extensive ancient cave paintings can be found in the nearby Sierra de Guadalupe mountains. In 1702, Jesuit Father Juan Maria de Salvatierra identified the valley of today's Mulegé as a place for a mission to the Indians. It was not until 1754 that Father Francisco Escalante started the construction of the mission, called Misión Santa Rosalía de Mulegé. Super 8 Mm Film
Super 8 mm film is a motion-picture film format released in 1965 by Eastman Kodak as an improvement over the older "Double" or "Regular" 8 mm home movie format. The film is nominally 8 mm wide, the same as older formatted 8 mm film, but the dimensions of the rectangular perforations along one edge are smaller, which allows for a greater exposed area. The Super 8 standard also allocates the border opposite the perforations for an oxide stripe upon which sound can be magnetically recorded.
