Blonde Death
''Blonde Death'' is a 1984 American shot-on-video (SOV) feature film written and directed by James Robert Baker. The film stars Sara Lee Wade as protagonist Tammy, a teenage girl who takes part in an Orange County crime spree. Produced by Los Angeles art collective EZTV, Bleeding Skull has listed Blonde Death as the greatest shot-on-video film ever made. Plot Eighteen year-old Tammy Lynn Beaverdorf (Sara Lee Wade) moves from Mississippi to California's Orange County in the company of her father, Vern (Dave Shuey), and scheming stepmother Clorette (Linda Miller). Vern and Clorette are strict conservative Christians who berate and spank Tammy as punishment for her coarse language and liberal approach to sex. James Robert Baker
James Robert Baker (October 18, 1947 – November 5, 1997) was an American author of sharply satirical, predominantly gay-themed transgressional fiction. A native Californian, his work is set almost entirely in Southern California. After graduating from UCLA, he began his career as a screenwriter, but became disillusioned and started writing novels instead. Though he garnered fame for his books ''Fuel-Injected Dreams'' and ''Boy Wonder'', after the controversy surrounding publication of his novel, '' Tim and Pete'', he faced increasing difficulty having his work published. According to his life partner, this was a contributing factor in his suicide. Baker's work has achieved cult status in the years since his death, and two additional novels have been posthumously published. EZTV is a production company and exhibition venue founded in Los Angeles in 1979 by film scholar, writer and video producer John Dorr, along with several filmmakers, actors, writers, musicians and artists.
