Blommersia Angolafa
''Blommersia angolafa'' is a species of frogs in the family Mantellidae. This recently described species is endemic to eastern Madagascar. The specific epithet is derived from the term “angolafa” or “angolafo”, which is the Malagasy vernacular name used by the Betsimisaraka people for the '' Dypsis'' palm species (mostly for ''Dypsis lastelliana''), whose leaves and prophylls are the habitat for this frog. Description ''Blommersia angolafa'' is a small frog, with a body size of 17–21 mm, enlarged tips on fingers and toes, and without any dark area in the tympanic and frenal region, present in the other ''Blommersia''. ''B. angolafa'' has a rather uniform dorso-lateral colouration, shading from yellowish–light brownish to dark brown, with light-bluish spots on the flanks and light-bluish terminal parts of the fingers and toes. The species also appears to be chromatically sexually dimorphic. In fact, males differ from females in having a light colouration, while ... Blommersia Blommersae
''Blommersia blommersae'' is a species of frog in the family Mantellidae. It is endemic to east-central Madagascar. Both the generic and specific names honour Rose Marie Antoinette Blommers-Schlösser, a Dutch herpetologist and entomologist who collected the type series. Common name Moramanga Madagascar frog has been proposed for it. Description ''Blommersia blommersae'' is a small frog that can grow to in snout–vent length. The overall appearance is slender. The fingers have no webbing whereas the toes are webbed. The colouration is variable: the dorsum is gray or light brown with darker, irregular spots, forming an inter-ocular bar and a V-shaped pattern on the scapular region. The canthal and tympanic regions are brown. The upper lip is white. The lower surfaces are irregularly speckled with dark, especially on the throat and chest. The male advertisement call is a series of 2–3 chirps lasting about 70–150 ms. Tadpoles in Gosner stage 25 measure and in stages 39 ... Blommersia Sarotra
''Blommersia sarotra'' is a species of frogs in the family Mantellidae. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical swamps, subtropical or tropical moist montane forests, swamps, and heavily degraded former forest. It is threatened by habitat loss Habitat destruction (also termed habitat loss and habitat reduction) is the process by which a natural habitat becomes incapable of supporting its native species. The organisms that previously inhabited the site are displaced or dead, thereby .... Species Characteristics ''Blommersia sarotra'' sustain typical characteristics of a single subgular vocal sac, short hands, and an elongated head like most other species in the ''Blommersia'' genus. However, the distinguishing traits of the species ''Blommersia sarotra'' include the presence of a white mark on their throats, lack of vomerine teeth, and a unique mating call composed of a long pulsed note, ...
