Blitzkrieg
''Blitzkrieg'(Lightning/Flash Warfare)'' is a word used to describe a combined arms surprise attack, using a rapid, overwhelming force concentration that may consist of armored and motorized or mechanized infantry formations, together with artillery, air assault, and close air support. The intent is to break through an opponent's lines of defense, dislocate the defenders, confuse the enemy by making it difficult to respond to the continuously changing front, and defeat them in a decisive : a battle of annihilation. During the interwar period, aircraft and tank technologies matured and were combined with the systematic application of the traditional German tactic of (maneuver warfare), involving the deep penetrations and the bypassing of enemy strong points to encircle and destroy opposing forces in a (cauldron battle/battle of encirclement). ''Blitz'' is the 11th studio album of French singer Étienne Daho, released on November 17, 2017. Background The psychedelically-inspired album was written and recorded in London, with the "Blitz" of the title referring the city's climate after the Brexit vote and terrorist attacks. In addition to long-time collaborators Fabien Waltmann and Jean-Louis Piérot, Daho recorded with musicians from The Unloved (composer/producers David Holmes and Keefus Ciancia and singer Jade Vincent), whom he had met upon the release of their first album. Bobby Ellsworth
Robert Ellsworth (born May 3, 1959), best known as Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, is an American singer who is the lead vocalist of New Jersey thrash metal band Overkill. He has been the vocalist of Overkill since its inception in 1980, and he and bassist D. D. Verni are the band's only constant members. Ellsworth is a member of the supergroup cover band BPMD. He also previously fronted The Cursed, a now defunct band featuring guitarist Dan Lorenzo, which released the ''Room Full of Sinners'' LP in 2007. Personal life In 1998, Ellsworth was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of nose cancer and underwent immediate surgery, which successfully removed the tumor. Blitz (British Band)
Blitz were an English punk rock band from New Mills, Derbyshire, formed in 1980 which recorded several singles, EPs and albums. Core history The original Blitz line-up consisted of Carl Fisher (vocals), Charlie Howe (percussion), Nidge Miller (guitar), and Neil "Mackie" McLennan (bass). The band had success in the United Kingdom indie charts in the early 1980s. With both punk and skinhead members, they were enthusiastically championed by ''Sounds'' magazine writer Garry Bushell. They had sent him their demo tape early in 1981. Bushell who labeled them Oi!, was impressed enough to put two of their tracks on that year's ''Carry On Oi'' compilation: "Nation On Fire" and "Youth". ''Bob and George'' was a sprite-based webcomic which parodied the fictional universe of ''Mega Man''. It was written by David Anez, who was a physics instructor living in the American Midwest at the time. The comic first appeared on April 1, 2000, and ran until July 28, 2007. It was updated daily, with there being only 29 days without a comic in its seven years of production and with 2568 comics being made altogether. Most ''Bob and George'' strips are still images. The initial strips were mostly done in GIF format (occasionally using JPEG for more graphic-intensive comics) before converting to PNG in May 2004. ''Blitz'' was a popular investigative weekly tabloid newspaper or newsmagazine published and edited by Russi Karanjia from Bombay. Started in 1941, it was India's first weekly tabloid and focussed on investigative journalism and political news. It was published in English, and with editions in Hindi, Urdu and Marathi languages. History First published on 1 February 1941, the magazine was a pioneer of investigative journalism in India.
