Blesdijke ( fry, Blesdike) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 460 in 2008. History The village was first mentioned in 1350 as Blesdic, and means dike at a bare spot. Blesdijke developed in late middle ages on the road from Oldemarkt Oldemarkt (Stellingwerfs: ''Ooldemark'') is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. Weststellingwerf (; Stellingwarfs: or ) is a municipality in the province of Friesland in the northern Netherlands. It is one of the municipalities of Friesland, where the spoken language is not West Frisian; instead, Stellingwerfs, a dialect of Dutch Low Saxon, is spoken here. Oldemarkt (Stellingwerfs: ''Ooldemark'') is a village in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, about 12 km west of Steenwijk. Oldemarkt was a separate municipality until 1973, when it became a part of IJsselham. History It was first mentioned in 1336 as Dodovene meaning "Bog of Dodo (person)". Noordwolde ( fry, Noardwâlde) is a village in Weststellingwerf in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 3,600 as of 2017. , the settlement to the south of Noordwolde is considered a separate village. There is a restored windmill in the village, ''Windlust''.
