Bleak House (band)
Bleak House are a British Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in 1972, who were active during the New wave of British heavy metal era of the late 1970s and early 1980s. They are best known for their song "Rainbow Warrior", which gained fame due to its similarities with the 1986 Metallica song "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)". Having been inactive for nearly forty years, the band announced that they would be reuniting for a one-off show at the Keep it True Festival 2021 in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. This was then postponed to 2022, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The band's appearance at the festival was subsequently rescheduled to 2024, with a warm-up show at The Water Rats in London planned for 23 March 2024. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. The new wave of British heavy metal (often abbreviated as NWOBHM) was a nationwide musical movement that began in England in the mid-1970s and achieved international attention by the early 1980s. Editor Alan Lewis (music journalist), Alan Lewis coined the term for an article by Geoff Barton in a May 1979 issue of the British music newspaper ''Sounds (magazine), Sounds'' to describe the emergence of heavy metal music, heavy metal bands in the mid-to-late 1970s, as punk rock declined amid the dominance of new wave music. Although encompassing diverse styles inherited from rock music, the music of the NWOBHM is best remembered for infusing earlier heavy metal with the intensity of punk rock to produce fast and aggressive songs. Metallica
Metallica is an American heavy metal band. It was formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career. Lauda-Königshofen () is a town in the Main-Tauber (district), Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The Water Rats
The Water Rats is a live music venue at 328 Grays Inn Road, Kings Cross, London, England. Until 1992, it was known as The Pindar of Wakefield and was famous for its regular old time music hall entertainment. Bob Dylan played his first UK gig here in December 1962. The Pogues (then known as the Pogue Mahones) had their first performance here on October 4, 1982 when they played alongside the band Suppose I Laugh, which included Dmytro Morykit. Oasis's debut London performance took place here on 27 January 1994. The Beta Band played their debut show here on Wednesday 23 July 1997.
