Blake Dean (cricketer)
Blake Sydney Dean (born 15 September 1987) is an Australian cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and right arm leg spin bowler until he trained himself to bat and bowl left handed after suffering a shoulder injury. He was captain/coach of the Queanbeyan District Cricket Club, playing for the ACT Comets in the Futures League and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Domestic and Club Career Blake Dean played for the University of New South Wales in Sydney (2008/09, 2009/10), then Canberra clubs Queanbeyan District Cricket Club (2010/11, 2011/12) and Tuggeranong Valley (2012/13). In 2013-2014 Blake Dean was captain coach of the Queanbeyan District Cricket Club in the ACT Cricket Competition. In 2010-11 he scored 102 for UNSW vs. Parramatta, then took 32 wickets at 17.63 for Queanbeyan District Cricket Club. All-rounder
An all-rounder is a cricketer who regularly performs well at both batting and bowling. Although all bowlers must bat and quite a handful of batsmen do bowl occasionally, most players are skilled in only one of the two disciplines and are considered specialists. The ACT Comets (also known as the Canberra Comets) are a cricket team that represent the Australian Capital Territory. The Comets are the premier team of the Cricket ACT who are affiliated with Cricket Australia. In the Domestic One Day Competition The ACT Comets were participants in the Australian domestic limited-overs Mercantile Mutual Cup competition. Queanbeyan District Cricket Club ('The Bluebags') is a cricket club operating in the Queanbeyan district of New South Wales and playing in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) cricket competition. It was formally founded in 1863. History Cricket began to be played in an organised fashion in New South Wales in the 1830s. On January 2, 1863 a meeting of twenty five persons was held in Mr. W. Big Bash League
The Big Bash League (BBL), also known as the KFC Big Bash League for sponsorship reasons, is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Australia. Established in 2011 by Cricket Australia, the Big Bash League replaced the previous competition, the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, and features eight city-based franchises instead of the six state teams which had participated previously. The competition has been sponsored by fast food chicken outlet KFC since its inception. It was in 2016/17 one of the two T20 cricket leagues, alongside the Indian Premier League, to feature amongst the top ten domestic sport leagues in average attendance.
