Ľuboš Blaha
Ľuboš Blaha (born 7 December 1979) is a Slovak politician, academic, post-Marxist philosopher and political scientist. He is a member of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, a presidium member of the left-wing populist party Direction – Slovak Social Democracy and Robert Fico's foreign-policy aide. Blaha has served as a Member of the European Parliament since 2024, having previously served as an MP of the National Council of Slovakia from 2012 to 2024. Blaha's has described his political positions as left-wing populist, anti-capitalist and left-wing nationalist. He describes himself as an "anti-globalist neo-Marxist" in the tradition of Wallerstein's world-systems theory, Robinson's concept of global capitalism and Hardt and Negri's theory of Empire. George Blaha
George Blaha (born March 26, 1945) is an American broadcaster. He has been the radio and television play-by-play voice of the Detroit Pistons since the 1976–77 NBA season. Blaha is the lead play-by-play man on FanDuel Sports Network, also doing radio play-by-play during nationally televised games in place of the Pistons' regular radio play-by-play man Mark Champion. He was also the play-by-play voice of the Michigan State Spartans football team. Early life Blaha was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Marshalltown, Iowa before moving to Grayling, Michigan at age thirteen. Lujza Blaha (''Ludovika Reindl''; 1850–1926) was a Hungarian actress and singer. She was known as "the nation's nightingale", an epithet given her by writer Mór Jókai. ''"First published in the Time Out Budapest magazine's monthly column "Magyar of the Month" (2009–2011)"'' Personal life Ludovika Reindl was born 8 September 1850 in Rimavská Sobota, Rimaszombat (today Rimavská Sobota, Slovakia). She married Ján Blaha, a Czech conductor in the imperial army, when she was 15 years old. He died five years later, but she kept his surname all her life despite marrying twice more. Despite being considered a "national icon" during her lifetime, she opposed the dignified "national prima donna" that was being thrust upon her and often crossed the taboos of the epoch by being sexually provocative both on stage and in her private life. Barbara Blaha (23 September 1983) is an Austrian author and founder of the political congress Momentum and the Denkfabrik Momentum Institute and editor of ''Moment'' magazine. Blaha is a former chairwoman of the Austrian Student Union. Life Blaha was born into a working-class family, the second of seven children. She attended elementary school and high school in Simmering. Julie Blaha (born May 2, 1970) is an American politician and retired educator serving as the 19th state auditor of Minnesota since 2019. She is a member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party. Before her election as auditor, Blaha served as secretary-treasurer of the Minnesota AFL–CIO, a federation of local trade unions. František Bláha (26 February 1886 – 21 May 1945) was a Czechs, Czech soldier, general of the Czechoslovak Army and one of the senior commanders of the Defense of the Nation. Early life and education Bláha was born on 26 February 1886 in Poděbrady. His father, František Bláha, was a butcher; his mother was named Anna, née Effenbergrová. He graduated from lower grammar school in Hradec Králové. In 1907–1908 he performed military service at the Landgran Regiment in Prague. On 23 November 1914, after the outbreak of World War I, he was sent to the Russian front, only to be captured after six days. He joined the Czechoslovak legions on 6 January 1916, in Tyumen.
