Vera Blagojević
Vera Blagojević (, 16 May 1920 – 18 March 1942) was a Kingdom of Yugoslavia, Yugoslav medical student and Communism, Communist political activist. During World War II, she was captured by the Gestapo in 1942 and later killed. She was posthumously awarded the Order of the People's Hero in 1953. Early life Vera Blagojević was born on 16 May 1920 in Belgrade, Kingdom of Yugoslavia. She was the daughter of lawyer Jovan Blagojević (), who served in the Army during World War I, and housewife Ana Blagojević (). Her father was a Communist supporter. She grew up in Šabac. In 1937, Blagojević helped organise a Student protest, student strike in protest of the attitudes of some teachers at the school. Dragiša Blagojević (born 1 January 1966) is a Montenegrin chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM) (2004), six-times Montenegrin Chess Championship winner (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009), Chess Olympiad individual gold medal winner (2008). Katarina Blagojević (née Jovanović; 31 October 1943 — 15 November 2021), also known as Katarina Blagojević-Jovanović ( sr-Cyrl, Катарина Благојевић-Јовановић) was a Serbian chess player who held the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM, 1986). She shared 4th–5th place in the Women's World Chess Championship Candidates Tournament in 1964. Milan Blagojević ( sr-cyr, Милан Благојевић; born 27 July 1929) is a Serbian former basketball player. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Milan Blagojević (born 24 December 1969 in Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian retired soccer player. Early life Milan is of Serbian descent and always aspired to be a professional footballer. He attended Cabramatta High School in the eighties before becoming a professional after stints with Serbian-Australian club Avala now known as Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
