Blackstar (band)
Blackstar were a British hard rock band, formed as a retooling of the band Carcass in 1995 without Bill Steer along with former Cathedral bassist Mark Griffiths (on guitar). The band name comes from a Carcass song off the '' Swansong'' 1996 album. Blackstar released only a single album. After a while, the band was forced to change its name to Blackstar Rising. The band dissolved because drummer Ken Owen suffered from a brain haemorrhage. Dominion (British Band)
Dominion was a British band from Thornhill, Dewsbury, that played a mix of death metal and doom metal genres. It featured a female singer, Michelle Richfield, and two male singers, Mass Firth and Arno Cagna. The band released two albums in the late 1990s on Peaceville Records and then split up. Drummer Bill Law temporarily played in My Dying Bride. Richfield and North later formed the band Sear. Firth now plays in the death metal band Nailed. In 2006 their former record label Peaceville decided to release an 18 track compilation album entitled Threshold A Retrospective. This featured songs from the albums Interface and Blackout, in addition to songs that were earlier released on the Under the Sign of the Sacred Star Peaceville compilation album. A version of the Tears For Fears song " Shout", originally released on the Peaceville X album, has now gone on to be a classic in metal clubs across the UK. The Blood Divine
The Blood Divine were a British gothic metal band, founded in the summer of 1995 by Paul Allender, brothers Paul and Benjamin Ryan, and Darren White. Allender and the brothers Ryan had recently left Cradle of Filth after the release of ''The Principle of Evil Made Flesh'' and White had recently parted ways with Anathema. They recruited drummer William A. 'W.A.S.' Sarginson and bassist Steve Maloney and were quickly signed up by Peaceville Records. Their debut album ''Awaken'' was recorded in early 1996 and released through Peaceville Records later that year. At the end of 1996, they toured throughout Europe with Cathedral and label mates, My Dying Bride. In the early summer of 1997, they recorded their second album, '' Mystica'', and guitarist Paul Allender left the band to spend more time with his family (however he eventually rejoined Cradle of Filth). Status Quo are a British rock band. The group originated in London and was founded in 1962 by Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster while they were still schoolboys. After a number of name and lineup changes, which included the introduction of John Coghlan (drummer), John Coghlan in 1963 and Rick Parfitt in 1967, the band became The Status Quo in 1967 and Status Quo in 1969. Acrimony (band)
Acrimony was a Welsh heavy metal band from Swansea who was active during the 1990s. Releasing their debut album in 1994, they are regarded as the pioneers of stoner metal in the United Kingdom, and an important influence upon the scene. Hüsker Dü () was an American punk rock band formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 1979. The band's continuous members were guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould, bassist Greg Norton, and drummer/vocalist Grant Hart. They first gained notability as a hardcore punk band, and later crossed over into alternative rock. Mould and Hart were the band's principal songwriters, with Hart's higher-pitched vocals and Mould's baritone taking the lead in alternating songs. The band issued their debut studio album ''Everything Falls Apart'' on Reflex Records in 1983 and subsequently released three LPs and an EP on the independent label SST Records, including the critically acclaimed ''Zen Arcade'' in 1984.
