Black Wire were an English post-punk band formed in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England Members *Daniel Wilson (vocals) *Si McCabe (guitars, backing vocals) *Tom Greatorex (bass) *Danny Prescott (drums) History Black Wire formed in January 2003, and played their first gig within a month of forming, at the Leeds club night Pigs. They then went on to tour extensively playing with such bands as Bloc Party, The Libertines, Hard-Fi, The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs and The Futureheads. Their début single, "Attack! Attack! Attack!", was awarded ''NME'' 'single of the week' tag, followed by positive reviews of subsequent releases. The start of 2006 saw a European tour taking in Italy, France and Germany, and also an American tour, which included San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles and New York. The band toured Europe once again in June 2007, with the London-based band Art Brut. I Predict A Riot
"I Predict a Riot" is a song by English indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs, appearing on their debut album, ''Employment'' (2005). It was originally released as their second single on 1 November 2004 and was the band's first release on the B-Unique label. It entered at number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. When re-released in 2005 as a double A-side with "Sink That Ship", it peaked at number nine on the UK chart. Background Drummer Nick Hodgson used to DJ at a club in Leeds called the Cockpit. He would often drive home past another nightclub called Majestyk's which often had people and police fighting each other, and sometimes drunk clubgoers would even bang on the windows of his car at 3am. He took inspiration from this one night and wrote a riff on the piano when he got home. The "friend of a friend who got beaten" was a friend of a fellow DJ at the Cockpit. Dalston
Dalston () is an area of East London, in the London Borough of Hackney. It is northeast of Charing Cross. Dalston began as a hamlet on either side of Dalston Lane, and as the area urbanised the term also came to apply to surrounding areas including Kingsland and Shacklewell, all three of which being part of the Ancient Parish of Hackney. Nicholas James David Hodgson (born 20 October 1977) is an English musician and songwriter, formerly of the indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs. Early life He attended St. Mary's Menston with Nick Baines and Simon Rix. He then went on to Trinity & All Saints University College in Horsforth, Leeds, where he studied Media. He later met Ricky Wilson and Andrew "Whitey" White at a mod night called Move on Up at The Underground in Leeds. Together they formed Runston Parva, later to be called Parva and now Kaiser Chiefs. Together with bandmate Ricky Wilson, Hodgson started the Leeds club night Pigs "to give us something to look forward to". Art Brut is an English indie rock band. Their debut album, '' Bang Bang Rock & Roll'', was released on 30 May 2005, with its follow up, ''It's a Bit Complicated'', released on 25 June 2007.
