Black Oak, Arkansas
Black Oak is a town in Craighead County, Arkansas, United States. The population was 262 in the 2010 census. It is included in the Jonesboro, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Black Oak is located in eastern Craighead County, east of Jonesboro, the county seat, and south of Monette. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. Ecologically, Black Oak is located within the St. Francis Lowlands ecoregion within the larger Mississippi Alluvial Plain. The St. Francis Lowlands are a flat region mostly covered with row crop agriculture today, though also containing sand blows and sunken lands remaining from the 1811–12 New Madrid earthquakes. Waterways have mostly been channelized, causing loss of aquatic and riparian wildlife habitat. Black Oak (Gary)
Black Oak is a neighborhood located on the far southwest side of Gary, Indiana. As of 2000, Black Oak had a population of 4,216, which was 84.7% white. It is Gary's only majority-white neighborhood, and the most recent neighborhood added to the city. Black Oak was annexed in 1976, under the administration of mayor Richard Hatcher. Prior to that, Black Oak had been an unincorporated area informally associated with nearby Hammond, and the area has Hammond telephone numbers. Located in Gary's southwest corner, Black Oak adjoins the City of Hammond to the west, and the Town of Griffith and unincorporated Calumet Township to the south. The neighborhood's northern boundary is formed by 15th Avenue, just north of Interstate 80; and its eastern boundary is formed by Burr Street and Clark Road. Maribou State are an English electronic music duo consisting of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory. To date, they have released eight EPs and three studio albums, ''Portraits'' (2015), ''Kingdoms in Colour'' (2018), and ''Hallucinating Love'' (2025).
