Bjørgulv Froyn
Bjørgulv Froyn (born 23 September 1945) is a Norwegian trade unionist and politician for the Socialist Left Party and the Norwegian Labour Party. He was born in Oslo, and took secondary education there. In 1968 he was hired as a worker in Oslo Sporveier in 1968. He was also a member of the Socialist Youth Association (SUF), and became known for participating in the Oslo Sporveier strike in 1970. Then, for the Socialist Left Party he served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Oslo during the term 1977–1981. He was also deputy chairman of the party from 1977 to 1979. In 1988 he joined the Norwegian Labour Party. He chaired the Oslo chapter of the party from 2000 to 2004, and served as an elected member of the Parliament of Norway during the term 2001–2005. Socialist Left Party (Norway)
The Socialist Left Party ( no, Sosialistisk Venstreparti, sme, Sosialisttalaš Gurutbellodat, SV) is a democratic socialist political party in Norway. Positioned on the left-wing of the political spectrum, it is opposed to European Union and the European Economic Area membership. SV supports a strong public sector, stronger social welfare programs, environmentalism, and republicanism. As of 2018, the party has 11,385 members; the number has steadily increased since a low point in 2015. The party leader is Audun Lysbakken, who was elected on 11 March 2012. The Norwegian Union of Municipal Employees ( no, Norsk Kommuneforbund, NKF) was a trade union in Norway, organized under the national Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions. It was founded in 1920 as the Norwegian Municipal Workers' Union, a split from the Norwegian Union of General Workers. Its chairman the first fifteen years was Gunnar Sethil. On founding, it had 3,280 members, and this grew steadily. The Norwegian Tramway Union merged in during 1921, followed by the National Association of Municipal Officials in 1923, following which, it renamed itself as the NKF.
