Björk Guðmundsdóttir ( , ; born 21 November 1965), known mononymously as Björk, is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, composer, record producer, and actress. Noted for her distinct three-octave vocal range and eccentric persona, she has developed an Eclecticism in music, eclectic musical style over her four-decade career that has drawn on electronic music, electronic, pop music, pop, Experimental music, experimental, trip hop, Classical music, classical, and avant-garde music. Björk (album)
''Björk'' is the only studio album by Icelandic singer Björk as a child singer, released on 18 December 1977 by Fálkinn. In 1976, Björk appeared on Icelandic radio singing "I Love to Love" through the music school she attended, which led her to a record deal and the release, with the help of stepfather Sævar, of her first solo album in 1977. The album is reputed to be juvenilia work and it is not included in the singer's official solo discography, hence the 1993 release ''Debut'' is widely considered to be Björk's first studio album. ''Björk'' or ''Björk as a book'' is a 192-page coffee table book published by the Icelandic singer and composer Björk Guðmundsdóttir (2001), designed by M/M Paris. Background To coincide with the release of fifth studio album ''Vespertine'' (2001), Björk released a photo-book. The eponymous book has been created by Björk and has been edited and designed by celebrated Paris based design firm M/M (Paris) who, along with photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, have also created the artwork for ''Vespertine'' and directed the video for the first single off the album, "Hidden Place". The photograph on the rear cover of the book is an early test shot for the video. The book is non-chronological and all the images have been specifically chosen to illustrate this creative process. Björk (exhibition)
''Björk'' was an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) about the Icelandic singer of the same name. Background and development On June 12, 2014, it was announced that the '' Biophilia'' apps were to be featured as part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, thus becoming the first app to be part of the museum collection. A week later, the museum announced that a retrospective exhibition of the singer's work will take place starting on March 7, 2015 until June 7, 2015.
