Bjarni Viðarsson
Bjarni Þór Viðarsson (born 5 March 1988) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a midfielder. He played in England, the Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark during his career and was also a full international. Club career Bjarni Viðarsson joined Everton from Icelandic side FH Hafnarfjörður in the summer of 2004. He has spent the majority of his time with the academy side and the reserves, before training with the first team. He was an unused substitute in the 2–0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James' Park in late February 2006. One month later he signed his first professional contract at Everton, signing a two-year deal. On 5 February 2007 he joined AFC Bournemouth on loan for a month. Viðarsson was deployed not in his natural center midfield position, by manager Kevin Bond, but on the left of midfield. Viðar Halldórsson (born 23 May 1953) is an Icelandic former footballer who played as a defender for FH and the Iceland national team. After his retirement, he returned to his home club in an administrative role, currently serving as chairman. Playing career Club career Viðar spent his entire career with his hometown club FH, making his first-team debut in 1970 and playing in over 400 matches. Arnar Þór Viðarsson (transliterated as Arnar Thor Vidarsson; born 15 March 1978) is an Icelandic football coach and a former player, his playing position was midfielder. The 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship began on 15 June 2009, and was the 17th UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This was the first tournament after the competition reverted to a two-year format, following the single-year 2006–07 competition, which allowed the change to odd-numbered years. The UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2007 were held from 10 to 23 June 2007. It was the 16th staging of UEFA's European Under-21 Championship. Summary For the first time, a host nation was chosen ahead of the competition – the Netherlands, who were also the defending champions, were exempt from qualifying.
