''Biththi Hathara'' ( si, බිත්ති හතර) is a 1982 Sri Lankan drama film directed by Parakrama de Silva and produced by H.D. Premasiri for Sarasavi Cineroo. The film was based on the book of the same name written by Sugathapala de Silva. It stars Neil Alles, Swarna Mallawarachchi and Vasanthi Chathurani in lead roles along with Menik Kurukulasuriya and Nadeeka Gunasekara. Music composed by Justin Abeywardena. It is the 536th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema. Swarna Mallawarachchi
Swarna Mallawarachchi (born 1 August 1948: si, ස්වර්ණා මල්ලවාරච්චි), is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema. Often known as the "Golden star of Sinhalese cinema", Swarna began her acting career whilst still a schoolgirl, starring in the 1966 blockbuster film ''Sath Samudura'' directed by Siri Gunasinghe. During a career that spanning over 40 years, Swarna has won the 'Best Actress Award' 26 times, most by a Sri Lankan actress. Vasantha Doreen Peterson (born 18 October 1959: si, වසන්ති චතුරානි), popularly as Vasanthi Chathurani, is an actress in Sri Lankan cinema and television. An extremely natural actress, Vasanthi Chathurani is one of the most successful personalities on Sri Lanka's silver and small screen.
