Bisaul
Bisaul ( Maithili: बिसौल) also known as ''Visaul'' is a historical village in the Mithila region of Bihar in India. It is situated in the Madhubani district of Bihar. The village was founded by the queen Vishwasa Devi of the Oiniwar Dynasty in the Mithila Kingdom. Description According to historians, the village of Bisaul was founded by the queen Vishwasa Devi after her name. She transferred the capital of Mithila from Padma to Bisaul around 1431 CE. The existence of the village can also be traced from the period of Ramayana. In the village there is a pilgrimage site known as Vishwamitra Ashram believed to be the location where Guru Vishwamitra, Lord Rama and Lakshmana stayed for a night before arriving in the Sita Swayamvara Shabha at the court of King Janaka in Mithila. Vishwamitra Ashram, Bisaul
Vishwamitra Ashram at Bisaul village of Madhubani district in the Mithila region of Bihar was the residence place related to the Vedic sage Vishwamitra in Ramayana. It is located near the capital city Janakpur of ancient Mithila Kingdom. Description In Ramayana, Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana went to the Vishwamitra Ashram from the Gautam Ashram in the ancient Mithila Kingdom with their teacher Vishwamitra. It is said that during the arrival of the princes Lord Rama and Lord Lakshmana in Mithila, Guru Vishwamitra stayed with them in Vishaul and rested for the night. Vishwamitra Ashram is also the part of Mithila Madhya Parikrama. It was located at the royal mango garden of the King Janaka. It was built by the King Shreedhwaj Janaka of Mithila as the residence place for the Vedic sage Vishwamitra. Madhubani District
Madhubani district is one of the thirty-eight districts of Bihar, India, and is a part of Darbhanga division. Its administrative headquarters are located in Madhubani. The district has an area of and has a population of 4,487,379 (as of 2011). Madhubani is the largest fish-producing district of Bihar in 2022. History Madhubani became a district in 1972 when it was split from Darbhanga district. It is believed that Baliraajgadh, an archaeological site which lies in modern-day Madhubani district was the capital of the ancient Mithila Kingdom. Mithila Madhya Parikrama
Mithila Madhya Parikrama (मिथिला मध्य परिक्रमा) is an annual periodic journey of the central part of the ancient Mithila (region), Mithila in Nepal and Bihar (India). It is held every year between the months of Kartik Purnima, Kartik (October–November), Falgun (February–March) and Baishakh (April–May). But nowadays only Falgun (February–March) journey is famous. It is a circular journey of the central part of the Ancient Mithila (region), Mithila. It covers a distance of 128 km circular path. Vishwasa Devi
Vishwasa Devi (Maithili: विश्वास देवी, Romanised: ''Viśvasadevi'') was the queen of the Mithila Kingdom in the Oiniwar Dynasty during the 15th-century. She ascended the throne of the Mithila Kingdom after the death of the '' King Padmasimha''. She ruled the kingdom for twelve years since 1431 CE to 1443 CE. She was the tenth ruler in the Oiniwar Dynasty of the Kingdom. Apart from being the ruler of the kingdom, she was also an eminent scholar of the Sanskrit literature. Later life Her names in different historical documents are written with slightly different spelling. They are ''Vishwasa Devi'', ''Viśvasadevi'', ''Visvasadevi'' and ''Viswavasa Devi''. She was married to the ''King Padmasimha'' of the Oiniwar Dynasty in Mithila. Padmasimha was the brother of the King Shivasimha in Mithila.
