Birgit Klomp
Birgit Klomp (born 27 April 1940) is a retired German freestyle swimmer who won a bronze medal at the 1954 European Aquatics Championships. She competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics in the 100 m and 4×100 m freestyle events and finished fourth in the relay. Rainer Osselmann (25 July 1960 – 23 April 2023) was a German water polo player who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and in the 1988 Summer Olympics. Osselmann was born in Duisburg. His father, Friedrich Osselmann, played water polo for West Germany at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics, whereas his mother, Birgit Klomp, competed in swimming at the 1956 Games. Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles.
