Birgit Hamann
Birgit Hamann, née Wolf (born 11 September 1969 in Böblingen) is a retired German athlete who specialized in 100 metres hurdles. She competed for the club VfL Sindelfingen. On 8 February 1986 in Sindelfingen she was involved in setting a new world indoor record of 1:33,56 minutes in 4 × 200 metres relay with the VfL Sindelfingen club team. The team consisted of Helga Arendt, Silke Knoll, Mechthild Kluth and Gisela Kinzel. Wolf finished fourth at the 1986 World Junior Championships, won the 1987 European Junior Championships and finished second at the 1988 World Junior Championships. Böblingen
Böblingen (; ) is a town in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, seat of Böblingen (district), Böblingen District. Sindelfingen and Böblingen are Geographic contiguity, contiguous. History Böblingen was founded by Count Wilhelm von Tübingen-Böblingen in 1253. Württemberg acquired the town in 1357, and on 12 May 1525 one of the bloodiest battles of the German Peasants' War took place in Böblingen. Jörg Truchsess von Waldburg attacked a force of 15,000 armed peasants; 3,000 were killed. By the end of the Thirty Years' War in 1648, the population of Böblingen had been reduced to 600. After the establishment of the Kingdom of Württemberg, Böblingen became the seat of an ''Oberamt'' (administrative unit) in 1818. The 4th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held at the Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from March 12 to March 14, 1993. The 5th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations, were held at the Ullevi, Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg, Sweden on 5–13 August 1995.
