Birgit Maria Christine Carlstén (8 December 1949 – 2 June 2025) was a Swedish actress and singer. Life and career Born in Huskvarna on 8 December 1949, Carlstén studied at the Malmö Theatre Academy from 1970 to 1974. She notably appeared on ''På spåret'' multiple times, winning the title alongside Tommy Engstrand in 1996. Carlstén died in Uppsala on 2 June 2025, at the age of 75. Huskvarna
Huskvarna (; formerly spelled ''Husqvarna'') constitutes the eastern part of Jönköping, a city in the Swedish province of Småland, and has a population of about 24,000. The distance to central Jönköping is about 5 km. The name Huskvarna translates to House Mill. Between 1911 and 1970, it was a city municipality of its own. It geographically grew together with Jönköping in the 1950s. Since the local government reform in 1971, it is administratively within Jönköping Municipality. History A royal rifle manufacturer was established in Husqvarna, as it was originally spelled, in 1689, and lasted until 1757, when it was sold to private owners. Malmö Theatre Academy () is a theatre academy at Lund University in Malmö, Sweden. The theater college educates actors, playwrights and performance artists. Over the years the school has trained over 500 actors. ''På spåret'' () is a popular Swedish TV game show series broadcast on SVT since 5 September 1987. The show, which is intended to be humorous yet educational, has remained one of the most popular TV shows in Sweden, attracting an average of 2,150,000 viewers during the 2007 season. The all-time record was set in March 1990, when 3.7 million people tuned in to see the show. This means that nearly half of all Swedes saw the game show. Tommy Clarence Engstrand (30 September 1939 – 18 July 2021) was a Swedish sports journalist, sports commentator, and television host of general interest shows like ''Razzel'' and ''Zick-Zack''. Early life Engstrand was born on 30 September 1939 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Viktor Engstrand, a sheet metal worker, and his wife Svea (née Jacobsson). He grew up on Tomtebogatan in Vasastan in Stockholm together with future journalists Lars-Gunnar Björklund and . Engstrand passed ''realexamen'' in 1955. ''The Sacrifice'' () is a 1986 drama film written and directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. Starring Erland Josephson, the film was produced by the Swedish Film Institute. Many of the crew were alumni of Ingmar Bergman's films, including cinematographer Sven Nykvist. ''The Sacrifice'' centers on a middle-aged intellectual who attempts to bargain with God to stop an impending nuclear holocaust. The film combines pagan and Christian religious themes; Tarkovsky called it a "parable".
