Birger Norman
Birger Norman (30 July 1914 – 13 September 1995) was a Swedish journalist, poet, novelist, playwright and non-fiction writer. Biography Birger Norman was born at Svanö in Kramfors, Sweden. He was raised in the historic province of Ångermanland. He first worked as a journalist and chronicler with the magazine . He made his literary debut in 1951, with the poetry collection . He received the Litterturfrämjandets stora pris in 1971 and the Dobloug Prize in 1989 as well as the Illis quorum ''Illis quorum'' (''Illis quorum meruere labores'') (English: "For Those Whose Labors Have Deserved It"), is a gold medal awarded for outstanding contributions to Swedish culture, science or society. Dobloug Prize
The Dobloug Prize ( sv, Doblougska priset, no, Doblougprisen) is a literature prize awarded for Swedish and Norwegian fiction. The prize is named after Norwegian businessman and philanthropist Birger Dobloug (1881–1944) pursuant to his bequest. The prize sum is 4 * 150,000 Swedish crowns (2011). Illis Quorum
''Illis quorum'' (''Illis quorum meruere labores'') ( English: "For Those Whose Labors Have Deserved It"), is a gold medal awarded for outstanding contributions to Swedish culture, science or society. The award was introduced in 1784 by King Gustav III, and was first awarded in 1785. Prior to 1975, the medal was awarded by the King of Sweden. Illis quorum is now awarded by the Government of Sweden, and it is currently the highest award that can be conferred upon an individual Swedish citizen by the Government.
