Binghamton University Explorchestra
The Binghamton University Explorchestra (commonly known as "Explorchestra" or "Explo"), is a composers' orchestra based in Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York. The ensemble performs exclusively original music. 013/ref> Founded in 2009 by James Mayr, Maxim Pekarsky, and Manar Alherech (then-second-year students (sophomores) at Binghamton), Explorchestra has premiered over 200 works by university and guest composers. The ensemble is dedicated to promoting new music in all genres by composers from both traditional and diverse backgrounds. Explorchestra consistently performs contemporary classical music, original film music, and videogame music, as well as new works in jazz, symphonic rock, folk music, concert band repertoire, and many other styles. A composer is a person who writes music. The term is especially used to indicate composers of Classical music, Western classical music, or those who are composers by occupation. Conducting
Conducting is the art of directing a musical performance, such as an orchestral or choral concert. It has been defined as "the art of directing the simultaneous performance of several players or singers by the use of gesture." Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra
The Binghamton Philharmonic, officially named the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra, is an American symphony orchestra located in Binghamton, New York. Its primary performing venue is the Broome County Forum Theatre. Its regular season consists of a classical music concert series and a pops concert series. The BPO's mission is "building community through the power of live music." The orchestra traces its roots to 1949, when Fritz and Marie Wallenberg started a chamber orchestra in Binghamton.
