Binette Schroeder
Binette Schroeder (5 December 1939 – 5 July 2022) was a German author and illustrator. Biography Born in Hamburg, Schroeder studied typography in Munich and continued her studies in painting at the Schule für Gestaltung Basel. She wrote and illustrated numerous children's books, some of which received international awards, including two awards at the Biennial of Illustration Bratislava. She lived in Munich with her husband, children's book author and lawyer Peter Nickl. Schroeder died in Gräfelfing on 5 July 2022 at the age of 82. Beauty And The Beast
"Beauty and the Beast" is a fairy tale written by the French novelist Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve and published in 1740 in (''The Young American and Marine Tales''). Villeneuve's lengthy version was abridged, rewritten, and published by French novelist Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont in 1756 in ''Magasin des enfants'' (''Children's Collection'') to produce the most commonly retold version. Later, Andrew Lang retold the story in ''Andrew Lang's Fairy Books#The Blue Fairy Book (1889), Blue Fairy Book'', a part of the ''Fairy Book'' series, in 1889. The Frog Prince
"The Frog Prince; or, Iron Henry" (, literally "The Frog King or the Iron Henry") is a German fairy tale collected by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812 in Grimms' Fairy Tales, ''Grimm's Fairy Tales'' (KHM 1). Traditionally, it is the first story in their folktale collection. The tale is classified as Aarne-Thompson type 440. "The Frog Prince" can be compared to the similar European fairy tale "The Frog Princess". Origin Editions The story is best known through the rendition of the Brothers Grimm, who published it in their 1812 edition of ''Kinder- und Hausmärchen'' (''Grimm's Fairy Tales''), as tale no. 1. Jeanne-Marie Leprince De Beaumont
Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont (French: �an maʁi ləpʁɛ̃s də bomɔ̃ ⓘ; 26 April 1711 – 8 September 1780) was a French author who wrote the best-known version of ''Beauty and the Beast'', an abridged adaptation of the 1740 fairy tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve. Born to a middle-class family, she was raised alongside her younger sister, Catherine Aimée. Both were provided education at a convent school and stayed on as teachers. Rather than remain and take her vow as a nun, she left for Metz, France, and became a governess for a prominent family in a court in Lunéville. As a long-time educator, she became well known for her written works on behavior and instructional teaching for young women. Her interest in the genre of education contributed to her inclusion of fairytales to teach moral behavior.
