Bimba Devi alias Yashodhara () is a 2018 Sri Lankan Sinhala language epic, biographical drama film written and directed by professor Sunil Ariyaratne. This historical biographical film depicts the life of princess Yashodhara, the wife of Prince Siddhartha. It is the 1304th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhalese cinema. The film stars Indian actress Pallavi Subhash (who is making her Sinhala language debut in the film) and Indian actor Arpit Choudhary in the lead roles. Other supporting crew includes Sri Lankan actors Dineth De Silva, Sangeetha Thedani, Ajith Weerasinghe, Udari Perera, and Kamal Deshapriya. This is directed by Sri Lankan film director Sunil Ariyaratne. The filming of the movie took place at Ranmihithenna Telecinema Park, Sri Lanka. The film was released on 26 April 2018, simultaneously with upcoming Vesak festival. The film screened 74 theaters worldwide and passed 100 days successfully. Screening of the film ended on 9 August. Pallavii Subhash Shirke (born 9 June 1984) is an Indian actress. A model turned actress, she began her career in Marathi plays, films and TV shows and later appeared in Hindi TV shows. She has worked in various Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Sinhala films. Princess Sundarī Nandā of Shakya, also known simply a Sundarī, was the daughter of King Suddhodana and Mahaprajapati.She was the half-sister of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became a Buddha. Pooja Gauthami Umashankar, mononymously known as Pooja, is an Indian-Sri Lankan actress, who has primarily appeared in Tamil, Sinhala and Malayalam language films. Early and personal life Pooja's mother, Sandhya, is a Sri Lankan Sinhalese and her father, H. R. Umashankar, is an Indian Kannadiga Brahmin from Sringeri, in the Chikmagalur district of Karnataka. Asita
Asita or Kaladevala or Kanhasiri was a hermit ascetic depicted in Buddhist sources as having lived in ancient India. He was a teacher and advisor of Suddhodana, the father of the Buddha, and is best known for having predicted that prince Siddhartha of Kapilavastu would either become a great chakravartin or become a supreme religious leader; Siddhartha was later known as Gautama Buddha. Suprabuddha (Sanskrit), or Suppabuddha (Pali) was the maternal uncle and father-in-law of the Buddha according to the Mahavamsa genealogy and the Theravada commentarial tradition.
