Coronation Street
''Coronation Street'' (colloquially referred to as ''Corrie'') is a British television soap opera created by ITV Granada, Granada Television and shown on ITV (TV network), ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres on a cobbled, terraced street in the fictional town of Weatherfield in Greater Manchester. The location was itself based on Salford, the hometown of the show's first screenwriter and creator, Tony Warren. Originally broadcast twice weekly, ''Coronation Street'' increased its runtime in later years, currently airing three 60-minute episodes per week. Warren developed the concept for the series, which was initially rejected by Granada's founder Sidney Bernstein, Baron Bernstein, Sidney Bernstein. Producer Harry Elton convinced Bernstein to commission 13 pilot episodes. Antony Cotton
Antony Cotton (born Antony Dunn; 5 August 1975) is an English actor and comedian, known for portraying the role of Sean Tully in ''Coronation Street'', as well as portraying Alexander Perry in the original '' Queer as Folk'' series. In 2007, Cotton hosted his own talk show titled '' That Antony Cotton Show'', which was cancelled after one series. In March 2013, he won ''Let's Dance for Comic Relief''. Early life Cotton was born Antony Dunn in Bury, Greater Manchester, the son of actress Enid Dunn. He attended Woodhey High School at Holcombe Brook, Ramsbottom, and the Oldham Theatre Workshop. Sean Tully
Sean Tully is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Antony Cotton. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 13 July 2003. Following that appearance, the character returned full-time on 12 April 2004. Development Antony Cotton said that playing Sean is easy because he just has to act like himself. Speaking to ''The People'', Cotton said that Sean looks and he sounds like him. Cotton later admitted that not all of the reviews about him are positive. Oliver Farnworth (born 5 August 1982) is an English actor. As well as appearing in various theatre productions, including West End theatre roles, Farnworth has also appeared as a regular character in two ITV1 soap operas: Andy Carver in ''Coronation Street'' (2014–2017) and John Sugden (Emmerdale), John Sugden in ''Emmerdale'' (2024–present). Paula Lane
Paula Lane (born 17 April 1986) is an English actress. She is best known for portraying the roles of Kylie Platt in ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'' (2010–2016), and Ella Forster in the ITV soap opera ''Emmerdale'' (2024–2025). Early life Lane is originally from Hebden Bridge near Halifax. Lane attended Halifax Catholic High School and then Huddersfield Technical College. Kylie Platt (also Turner) is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', played by Paula Lane. She was introduced as Becky McDonald's ( Katherine Kelly) half-sister, making her on-screen debut on 26 August 2010. Lane landed the role, with executive producer Phil Collinson describing her as a brilliant casting.
