Billy Hilfiger
Brain Surgeons were an American rock band featuring Albert Bouchard formerly of Blue Öyster Cult and vocalist Deborah Frost. Guitarist Ross the Boss was a later member of the band. The Brain Surgeonsat Allmusic They formed in 1994 and originally centered on the nucleus of Bouchard and Frost. In 1995, the lineup expanded to include Billy Hilfiger, Peter Bohovesky and David Hirschberg. Hilfiger was later diagnosed with brain cancer and died in 2001. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a Music genre, genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Hard rock or heavy rock is a heavier subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and Distortion (music), distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the Garage rock, garage, Psychedelic rock, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Some of the earliest hard rock music was produced by the Kinks, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Cream (band), Cream, Vanilla Fudge, and the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Blue Öyster Cult
Blue Öyster Cult ( ; sometimes abbreviated BÖC or BOC) is an American rock band formed on Long Island, New York, in the hamlet of Stony Brook, in 1967. They have sold 25 million records worldwide, including 7 million in the United States. Their fusion of hard rock with psychedelia and penchant for occult, fantastical and tongue-in-cheek lyrics had a major influence on heavy metal music. They developed a cult following and enjoyed mainstream success with " (Don't Fear) The Reaper" (1976), "Godzilla" (1977), and " Burnin' for You" (1981), which remain classic rock radio staples. Manowar (band)
Manowar is an American heavy metal band from Auburn, New York. Formed in 1980, the group is known for lyrics based on fantasy (particularly sword and sorcery) and mythology (particularly Norse mythology and Greco-Roman mythology), as well as numerous songs celebrating the genre and its core audience. The band is also known for a loud and emphatic sound. In an interview for MTV in February 2007, bassist Joey DeMaio lamented that "these days, there's a real lack of big, epic metal that is drenched with crushing guitars and choirs and orchestras... so it's nice to be one of the few bands that's actually doing that". In 1984, the band was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on two occasions. Dictators (band)
The Dictators are an American rock band formed in New York City in 1973. Known for their acerbic and provocative approach in their music, the Dictators underwent several changes in their lineups. Its founding members included musicians Andy "Adny" Shernoff (electric bass, keyboards, vocals), Ross "The Boss" Friedman (lead guitar, vocals) and Scott "Top Ten" Kempner (rhythm guitar, vocals). At one point, the lineup included "Handsome" Dick Manitoba (vocals) and Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (electric bass, vocals). Throughout varying lineups, Shernoff, Friedman and Kempner have been constant members. With albums like ''The Dictators Go Girl Crazy!'', ''Manifest Destiny'' and ''Bloodbrothers'', the Dictators did not initially have any commercial success outside the punk rock scene in the 1970s and courted some controversies, but later grew to be respected as one of the pioneers in punk rock with a strong cult following. Albert Bouchard
Albert Bouchard (; born May 24, 1947) is an American musician. He is a founding member and one of the first and most prominent drummers of the hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult and current drummer of The Dictators. He is the older brother of former Blue Öyster Cult bassist Joe Bouchard. Early years Bouchard was born to Robert Bouchard and Francis Ryan. He was born in Watertown, New York, and grew up in Clayton, New York. He is the older brother of BÖC member Joe Bouchard by 18 months. Deborah Frost
According to the Book of Judges, Deborah (, ''Dəḇōrā'') was a prophetess of Judaism, the fourth Judge of pre-monarchic Israel, and the only female judge mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. Ross Friedman (born January 3, 1954), also known as Ross the Boss, is an American guitarist, best known as a founding member of both the Punk rock, punk band the Dictators and the Heavy metal music, heavy metal band Manowar (band), Manowar. History Friedman was born in the Bronx, New York City, and formed the punk rock band the Dictators with Andy Shernoff in New Paltz, New York, in 1973. Prior to this, Friedman had played in a local band, Total Crudd. After recording three albums with the Dictators, Friedman went to France and worked for one year in Fabienne Shine's band Shakin' Street (band), Shakin' Street. David Hirschberg
David (; , "beloved one") was a king of ancient Israel and Judah and the third king of the United Monarchy, according to the Hebrew Bible and Old Testament.
