Billy Briscoe
William Briscoe (6 November 1896 – 7 February 1994) was an English footballer who played as a forward. A former Watford, Stoke, Milton Brotherhood, and Leek United player, he first turned professional with Port Vale in 1918. After five years, he moved on to Congleton Town for a season, only to return to Vale in 1924. He then spent the next seven years with the club, racking up 307 league appearances over his two spells, scoring 51 goals. He returned to Congleton in 1931 before later retiring from the game. He also played cricket for Staffordshire in the Minor Counties Championship from 1921 to 1925. Career Briscoe appeared for Watford, Stoke (three appearances), Milton Brotherhood and Leek United before signing professional forms with Port Vale in January 1918. Appendicitis is inflammation of the Appendix (anatomy), appendix. Symptoms commonly include right lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever and anorexia (symptom), decreased appetite. Wilf Kirkham
Wilfred Thomas Kirkham (26 November 1901 – 20 October 1974) was an English footballer who holds four goalscoring records at Port Vale. His 153 league goals and 164 goals in all competitions are both records, as are his tally of 38 goals in the 1926–27 season and his total tally of 13 competitive hat-tricks. A cousin of Tom Holford, he was noted for his "Kirkham Special" hook shots, intelligent football and prolific scoring record. After spending time with Cobridge Church and Congleton Town, he graduated as a teacher. Splitting his time between teaching and playing football, he turned professional with Port Vale in 1923. After six prolific seasons with the "Valiants", he was sold on to rivals Stoke City for a £2,800 fee after the Vale suffered relegation out of the Second Division. Tom Page (footballer)
Thomas Page (15 November 1888 – 26 October 1973) was an English footballer and international baseball player who played as an inside-forward. Three of his brothers, Louis, Jack and Willie, were also professional footballers. Career Page played for Carada, Pembroke, and Rochdale before spending six weeks at Everton in 1913. He then moved on to St Mirren, and guested for South Liverpool during World War I. He had a trial with Liverpool before joining Port Vale for £400 in June 1920. He hit nine goals in 41 appearances in 1920–21, including one in the 2–1 Potteries derby victory over Stoke at the Old Recreation Ground on 25 September, the club's first league goal against Stoke. He was top scorer in the 1921–22 season with 10 goals in 39 games, helping the team to share the North Staffordshire Infirmary Cup in 1922. Non-League football describes association football, football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional. The term is primarily used for football in England, where it is specifically used to describe all football played at levels below those of the Premier League (20 clubs) and the three divisions of the English Football League (EFL; 72 clubs).
