Bill Richmond (writer)
William Earle Richmond (December 19, 1921 – June 4, 2016) was an American film and television comedy writer and producer, as well as a musician, actor and composer. He co-wrote the screenplays to numerous popular films that starred Jerry Lewis. These films included '' The Nutty Professor'', '' The Errand Boy'' and ''The Ladies Man''. He also made cameo appearances in some of Lewis' films as well, such as a piano player in '' The Patsy''. Later in his career, he wrote and/or produced for numerous television shows, including ''Laugh-in'', ''Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color'', ''The Carol Burnett Show'', ''I Dream of Jeannie'', '' Welcome Back Kotter'', ''Three's Company'', '' The John Larroquette Show'', '' Wizards and Warriors'', ''All in the Family'', ''Blossom'' and '' Kate & Allie''. ''Blossom'' is an American sitcom that aired for five seasons on NBC. Debuting as a pilot preview on July 5, 1990, it premiered as a mid-season replacement on January 3, 1991, and aired until May 22, 1995. ''Cracking Up'' is a 1983 American comedy film directed by and starring Jerry Lewis, his last film as a director and fourth and final film for 20th Century Fox. Nelson Smock Riddle Jr. (June 1, 1921 – October 6, 1985) was an American arranger, composer, bandleader and orchestrator whose career stretched from the late 1940s to the mid-1980s. Lester Raymond Brown (March 14, 1912 – January 4, 2001) was an American jazz musician who for over six decades (1938-2000) led his big band, later called Les Brown and His Band of Renown. Biography Brown was born in Reinerton-Orwin-Muir, Pennsylvania, Reinerton, Pennsylvania. He enrolled in the Conway Military Band School (later part of Ithaca College) in 1926, studying with famous bandleader Patrick Conway for three years before receiving a music scholarship to the New York Military Academy, where he graduated in 1932.
