Bill Perkins (politician)
William Morris Perkins (April 18, 1949 – May 16, 2023) was an American politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, he served in the New York City Council from the 9th district from 2017 to 2021. The district includes portions of Harlem in Manhattan. Perkins formerly represented the same seat from 1998 to 2005, and was a member of the New York State Senate for the 30th District from 2007 to 2017. Early life and education Perkins was born and raised in Harlem, a neighborhood in Manhattan. He attended Collegiate School on a scholarship before receiving a scholarship to Brown University. He graduated from Brown in 1972. David Paterson
David Alexander Paterson (born May 20, 1954) is an American politician and attorney who served as the 55th governor of New York, succeeding Eliot Spitzer, who resigned, and serving out nearly three years of Spitzer's term from March 2008 to December 2010. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the first legally blind person to be sworn in as governor of a U.S. state, and the first African-American governor of New York. Following his graduation from Hofstra Law School, Paterson worked in the District Attorney's office of Queens County, New York, and on the staff of Manhattan borough president David Dinkins. Cordell Cleare
Cordell Cleare (born December 5, 1965) is an American activist and politician from Harlem, New York City. A member of the Democratic Party, she has been politically active in Harlem since the late 1990s and is currently the state-senator for New York's 30th State Senate district. Early life Cordell Cleare was raised in Harlem, where her family lived for four generations. Career Cleare worked for over 18 years for New York State Senator Bill Perkins and served as his chief of staff for several years. Colorectal cancer (CRC), also known as bowel cancer, colon cancer, or rectal cancer, is the development of cancer from the colon or rectum (parts of the large intestine).
