Bill Morrison (born November 17, 1965) is an American, New York–based filmmaker and artist. His films often combine rare archival material set to contemporary music, and have been screened in theaters, cinemas, museums, galleries, and concert halls around the world. Early life and career Morrison was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Reed College from 1983 to 1985, and graduated with a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art in 1989. He received the President's Citation from Cooper Union in 2016. Morrison had a mid-career retrospective at New York's Museum of Modern Art, October 2014 – March 2015. He is a fellow of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, and has received the Alpert Awards in the Arts, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, Creative Capital, and the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Grants to Artists award (2003). Bill Morrison (born 1959) is an American comic book artist, writer, and editor. He is a co-founder of Bongo Comics (along with Matt Groening and Steve and Cindy Vance). Early life Morrison is a native of Lincoln Park, Michigan, a Downriver suburb of Detroit. He attended the College for Creative Studies. William Lawrence Morrison (3 November 1928 – 15 February 2013) was an Australian politician and diplomat. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and held ministerial office in the Whitlam Government as Minister for External Territories (1972–1973), Science (1972–1975), and Defence (1975). He had been a member of the diplomatic service before entering politics, and later served a term as Ambassador to Indonesia (1985–1989). Early life Morrison was born in Lithgow, New South Wales and graduated with an honours degree in economics from the University of Sydney in 1949. He was a diplomat in the Department of External Affairs from 1950 to 1969, with postings to London, Moscow, Washington, D.C., Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. William Alfred Morrison was a British trade union leader. Morrison became active in the National Union of Printing, Bookbinding and Paper Workers, and in 1938 was elected as secretary of its London Central branch, the largest branch of the union. In this role, he supported C. C. Diels in refusing to work with the ''Mosley News Letter'', a fascist publication put out by Oswald Mosley. Mosley Publications took the two to the High Court, along with the uninvolved Cyril Watt, arguing that they were guilty of conspiracy to prevent their publications being printed, but Morrison and the union activists won the case. Later in the year, he was elected as general secretary of the National Union of Printing, Bookbinding and Paper Workers in 1947, taking 31,515 in the election, compared to 11,290 for Vincent Flynn, and 4,204 for F. Billy Morrison is a British guitarist and singer who plays guitar with Billy Idol and performs with the Los Angeles-based cover band Royal Machines. Morrison previously played with Camp Freddy and fronted the hard rock act Circus Diablo. He has also been a member of The Cult. Early life and career Morrison was born in the UK and is an only child.
