Bill Cloke
Ernest William "Bill" Cloke was a New Zealand rugby league player who represented New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand. Playing career Bill Cloke began his career playing for Otahuhu Leopards, Otahuhu United in 1916 playing 11 matches for their senior side. He played 2 further matches for them in the 1917 season before he transferred to the Newton Rangers after the Otahuhu senior side folded mid season due to a lack of players through illness, injury, and players leaving for the war effort. Cloke played for New Zealand national rugby league team, New Zealand on the 1919 New Zealand rugby league tour of Australia, 1919 tour of Australia, where no test matches were played. On 24 July 1920 he played for Auckland rugby league team, Auckland against the touring Great Britain national rugby league team, Great Britain Lions. Otahuhu Leopards
The Otahuhu Leopards are a rugby league club based in Otahuhu, Auckland. Founded in 1911, the club has produced 49 New Zealand national rugby league team players. The club competes in the Fox Memorial competition run by Auckland Rugby League. Otahuhu has won the Fox Memorial Shield 12 times, the Rukatai Shield 16 times, Roope Rooster 12 times and the Stormont Shield 12 times. History The Otahuhu Leopards were founded in 1911. Newton Rangers
The City Newton Dragons are a defunct New Zealand rugby league club that was based at Victoria Park, Auckland. The club was created in 1948 by a merger of two original clubs, the City Rovers and Newton Rangers. Both the Rovers and the Rangers participated in the inaugural Auckland Rugby League competition in 1910. In 2004, the club was absorbed by the Ponsonby Ponies, who play a match in the City Newton colours annually to keep the heritage of the club alive. Auckland Rugby League Team
The Auckland rugby league team is the team which traditionally represents all of the clubs which play in the Auckland Rugby League competition. As well as a senior men's team there are also Auckland representative teams throughout the various age groups such as under 15s, under 17s, under 19s and under 21s. Under the new zone scheme introduced in 2010 the Auckland team represents the North Shore, East Auckland and West Auckland, while South Auckland is represented by the Counties Manukau rugby league team. The New Zealand national rugby league team ( Māori: Tīma rīki motu Aotearoa) has represented New Zealand in rugby league since 1907. The Great Britain national rugby league team represents Great Britain in rugby league. Administered by the Rugby Football League (RFL), the team is nicknamed The Lions. For most of the 20th century, the Great Britain team toured overseas, played against foreign touring teams and competed in the Rugby League World Cup, which they won three times: in 1954, 1960 and 1972.
