William Edward Butler (August 12, 1950 – January 23, 2018) was an American football running back who played three seasons with the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Kansas State and was drafted by the Saints in the fifth round of the 1972 NFL Draft The 1972 NFL draft was held February 1–2, 1972, at the Essex House in New York City, New York. The Topps Company, Inc. is an American company that manufactures chewing gum, candy, and collectibles. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive handoffs from the quarterback to rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and block.
