Bill Busbridge
William Ethelbert Busbridge (31 January 1885 – 12 June 1943) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the early days of the Victorian Football League (VFL). A centre half back and part-time ruckman, he was also known by his nickname "Buzzy". Family One of seven children (one of whom was Norm Busbridge), Busbridge was born to William Ethebert Busbridge (1861–1937) and Margaret Jane Busbridge (1870–1895), née Smith, in the Essendon district on 31 January 1885. He married Ethel Essendon Dean (1888–1971) on 14 December 1912. They had one surviving son, Keith Ethelbert (1917–1985). Busbridge died in a Geelong private hospital on 12 June 1943, and was cremated at Fawkner Crematorium on 14 June 1943. Essendon is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Moonee Valley local government area. Essendon recorded a population of 21,240 at the 2021 census. Bert Taylor (footballer, Born 1900)
Gilbert Roy Taylor (9 July 1900 – 1 April 1980) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Fitzroy and coached Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Originally from Warragul, Taylor spent four seasons at Fitzroy where he played as a defender. His last league game was the 1922 Grand Final win, in which he starred from the back pocket. A policeman, he had been transferred to Geelong in 1922 but having failed to gain a clearance from Fitzroy he left the club after the Grand Final. The following season he joined Geelong as non playing coach and steered the club to the finals. The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. Prahran Assumption Football Club (), nicknamed The Two Blues, is an Australian rules football club based at Toorak Park in Orrong Road between High Street and Malvern Road, Armadale, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The club is currently in Division 1 of the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). The nickname ''Two Blues'' comes from the club uniform which has been royal blue and sky blue since the club formed in 1886. Teams Prahran fields Senior, Reserves, Club XVIII and junior teams. Ike Woods
Ike Woods (20 August 1879 – 28 September 1962) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Career A full-forward who was small in stature, Woods was capable from outside 50 and became known for his accurate place kicks. Woods came to Geelong from local side Wellington and debuted late in the 1901 VFL season. By the end of the year he had made five appearances, the last of which was a semi-final loss to Collingwood. He topped Geelong's goal-kicking for the first time in 1902, with 16 goals, despite only appearing in the opening eight rounds. In 1903 he played every game and kicked a club high 34 goals, six of them in a win over Essendon at Corio Oval. That season he missed out on winning the VFL Leading Goal-kicker Award by one goal, to Collingwood's Teddy Lockwood.
