Big Up (song)
"Big Up" is the fourth and final single from Jamaican reggae artist Shaggy's debut studio album, '' Pure Pleasure''. Background The single was released on December 2, 1993. The song was originally recorded under Greensleeves Records, however, was released as a single by Jet Star Records for reasons unknown. A music video for the song premiered in November 1993, and in November 2009, the video was uploaded to Shaggy's official VEVO account. The promoted single version of the song was remixed by Pressure Point, who also features on the track. The single was released on three official formats, backed with new tracks "The Version" and "Skit Out". Today, it remains one of Shaggy's rarest physical singles. Avalon (Swedish Group)
Avalon or Group Avalon was a band consisting of Djo Moupondo and his brother Mohombi Moupondo with Congolese and Swedish ancestry. A multilingual band, they performed songs in Swedish, French, English and Lingala. Mohombi has gone on to create a successful international solo career signing with RedOne. Djo is CEO of their label La Clique Music co founded with their longtime friend and Bruno Lopez with whom he also Co-manages Mohombi. Career Djo and Mohombi born to a Congolese father and a Swedish mother were raised in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Djo & Mohombi escaped the war-torn country for Stockholm, Sweden in 1998. The parents regularly exposed them to varied musical influences. Big Ups was an American post-hardcore band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2010. It was founded by legendary lead singer Joe Galarraga, guitarist Amar Lal, bassist Carlos Salguero and drummer Brendan Finn. History ''Eighteen Hours of Static'' (2014–2015) On January 13, 2014 Big Ups released their debut album ''Eighteen Hours of Static'' through Dead Labour and Tough Love Records for North America and the UK/Europe respectively.
