Big Brother (Greek Season 6)
''Big Brother Greece 6'' was the sixth season of the Greek reality television series '' Big Brother''. The show returned after a nine-year hiatus and began airing on 29 August 2020 on Skai TV and ended after 113 days on 18 December 2020, nineteen years after the first season aired. It was the first season of ''Big Brother'' to air on Skai TV. The show also simulcast live in Cyprus on Sigma TV like in the last season. This season was originally scheduled to start on 15 March 2020. But was postponed until further notice by Skai TV due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in Greece. Harry Varthakouris presented the show. Andreas Mikroutsikos was the opinionist. The winner received €100,000. Anna-Maria Psycharaki was announced as the winner of the season, with Sofia Danezi as the runner-up. Skai TV is a Greek free-to-air television network based in Piraeus, operating under Skai Group. ''Big Brother'' is an American television reality competition show based on the Dutch reality show of the same name created by producer John de Mol Jr. in 1997; the series takes its name from the character in George Orwell's 1949 novel ''Nineteen Eighty-Four.'' The American series launched on July 5, 2000, on CBS and since the discontinuation of the Spanish version in 2022, is the longest-running adaptation in the '' Big Brother'' franchise. The show broadly follows the premise of other versions, in which a group of contestants, known as "HouseGuests", live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the "Outside World" for a cash prize of $750,000 ($500,000 prior to season 23). Pagrati () is a neighborhood in Athens, Greece, having an estimated population of 35,173 residents.
