Big Brother (Croatian Season 2)
''Big Brother 2'' is the second season of the Croatian reality television series '' Big Brother'' that premiered on 4 September to 30 December 2005 and ran for 118 days. Season summary The second season had radical changes in the format of the show — the number of contestants was initially raised from 12 to 14; the pace of evictions and nominations was accelerated, and numbers of contestants were introduced at later stages. The composition of contestants was different—they were much younger, less educated and generally perceived to be less mature. They also tended to represent various sections of the Croatian population, missing in the previous season. This was most evident with Matko Okmažić from Omiš, the 25-year-old son of the restaurant owner, later revealed to be the candidate of far-right parties at local elections. Antonija Blaće
Antonija Brlečić (born 2 October 1979), better known under her maiden surname Blaće, is a Croatian TV host who works for RTL Televizija and Narodni radio. She rose to fame as a contestant of first Croatian season of '' Big Brother'', getting evicted from the ''Big Brother'' house a week before the show's final. She became a regular host since the second season and has since hosted every season of the show. Other than ''Big Brother'', she hosted the first two seasons of Croatian version of '' Idols'' franchise ('' Star Search Croatia''), '' X Factor Adria'', ''Fear Factor'', the culinary show ''Večera za 5'', and ''Uhvati Bingo Ritam''. Croatian Bloc (political Party)
Croatian Bloc ( or HB) was a right-wing political party in Croatia. Its name was often followed by the phrase ''Pokret za modernu Hrvatsku'' meaning "Movement for a Modern Croatia". It was founded in September 2002 following the convention of the Croatian Democratic Union at which Ivić Pašalić failed to unseat his main rival Ivo Sanader. Pašalić and his followers founded the new party, accusing Sanader both of winning the convention by undemocratic means and straying from the nationalist legacy of Franjo Tuđman. The new party, however, didn't attract the majority of HDZ supporters who rallied around Sanader during the 2003 parliamentary elections. Croatian Bloc failed to enter Croatian Parliament. The Croatian Christian Democratic Union ( or HKDU) was a minor right-wing Christian-democratic political party in Croatia. It was founded in 1992 after the merger of Croatian Democratic Party (HDS) and the Croatian Christian Democratic Party (HKDS). Jasenovac I Gradiška Stara
"Jasenovac i Gradiška Stara" () is a Croatian song promoting the Ustaše massacres in World War II. The lyrics celebrate the World War II holocaust and genocide of Serbs in Herzegovina. In 2003, Matija Babić, a journalist at Index.hr, criticized the Croatian band Thompson for performing the song, as well as Croatian Radiotelevision, Croatia Records and other media for continuing to cover Thompson as a mainstream artist. In 2007, Efraim Zuroff, while reporting in the ''Jerusalem Post'' on a Thompson performance at Maksimir Stadium, said that Marko Perković, the lead vocalist, gained notoriety for having performed the song which was overtly fascist, and criticized Thompson concerts as an occasion for a display of extremist nationalists. Perković first acknowledged, then later denied performing the song stating that "he is a musician, not a politician". RTL (previously known as RTL Televizija) is a Croatian free-to-air television network founded on 30 April 2004. It was owned by the RTL Group from 2004 to 2022. Omiš () is a town and port in the Dalmatia region of Croatia, and a municipality in the Split-Dalmatia County. ''Big Brother'' is a reality competition television franchise created by John de Mol Jr., first broadcast in the Netherlands in 1999 and subsequently syndicated internationally. The show features contestants called "housemates" or "HouseGuests" who live together in a specially constructed house that is isolated from the outside world.
