Arthur William "Big Boy" Crudup (August 24, 1905 – March 28, 1974) was an American Delta blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known, outside blues circles, for his songs " That's All Right" (1946), " My Baby Left Me" and "So Glad You're Mine", later recorded by Elvis Presley and other artists. Early life Crudup was born on August 24, 1905, in Union Grove, Forest, Mississippi, to a family of migrant workers traveling through the South and Midwest. The family returned to Mississippi in 1926, where he sang gospel music. He had lessons with a local bluesman, whose name was Papa Harvey, and later he was able to play in dance halls and cafes around Forest. Big Boy Goudie
Frank "Big Boy" Goudie (September 13, 1899 – January 9, 1964) was an American jazz trumpeter, alto and tenor saxophonist and clarinetist. Goudie was born in Youngsville, Louisiana, United States, 150 miles west of New Orleans in the area of the state known as Cajun country, where he lived until age of eight. (It is likely he learned to speak French while growing up there, which would be useful later in his life.) His family then moved to New Orleans, where he began playing cornet, possibly studying with Bunk Johnson. He became proficient enough to find work with local bands such as Papa Celestin's Original Tuxedo Band and the Magnolia Band - two top bands in New Orleans at that time. He began studying clarinet and tenor saxophone, which would eventually become his primary instruments. Alberto C. Reynoso (May 14, 1940 – November 22, 2011), also known by his nickname "Big Boy" Reynoso, was a professional basketball player from the Philippines. During the 1960s to 1970s, Reynoso played in the amateur basketball tournament of the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association. Arthur "Big Boy" Spires (February 25, 1912 – October 22, 1990) was an American blues singer and guitarist who recorded for several record labels in Chicago in the 1950s and 1960s. Life and career Spires was born in Natchez, Mississippi (some sources give his birthplace as Yazoo City), on February 25, 1912. He took up the guitar in the late 1930s and by 1939 or 1940 was proficient enough to work with Lightnin' Hopkins at the Beer Garden in Yazoo City.Rowe (1981), p. 128. William Carlisle Towery (June 20, 1920 – November 25, 2012), nicknamed "Blackie" or "Big Boy", was an American professional basketball player. A 6'5" (1.96 m) forward- center, Towery played for the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers from 1938 to 1941. From 1997 he has hosted the morning show at Los Angeles Rhythmic contemporary station KPWR ( Power 106) until his move in February 2015 to KRRL (Real 92.3). His stage name derives from his formerly large build, which he modified through duodenal switch surgery in 2003, leading to a nearly fatal weight loss of over 250 pounds.
