Biff Elliot
Biff Elliot (born Leon Shalek; July 26, 1923 – August 15, 2012) was an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his role as popular detective Mike Hammer (character), Mike Hammer in the 1953 version of ''I, the Jury (1953 film), I, the Jury'' and for his guest appearance as Schmitter in the ''Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek'' episode "The Devil in the Dark". Early life Elliot was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, the son of Susan (née Bernstein) and Israel Shalek. He was the youngest of three brothers. His ancestors were Jewish immigrants from Eastern Europe. Career Elliot, who had acted during his college years, abandoned writing to pursue television roles. ''The Public Defender'' is an American legal drama television series that was broadcast on CBS from March 11, 1954, to June 23, 1955. Premise Reed Hadley had the title role of public defender Bart Matthews. Each episode opened with him in a courtroom setting explaining the role of a public defender and the increase in the number of public defenders from the first one (created in January 1913). In each episode Matthews sought to show that his client was not guilty or to at least obtain a shorter sentence if the person was guilty. He sometimes had to investigate to learn more facts about the client's situation. Hadley portrayed Matthews as "such a character as butter will not melt in his mouth. Orangutan
Orangutans are great apes native to the rainforests of Indonesia and Malaysia. They are now found only in parts of Borneo and Sumatra, but during the Pleistocene they ranged throughout Southeast Asia and South China. Diana Muldaur
Diana Muldaur (born August 19, 1938) is an American film and television actress. Muldaur's television roles include Rosalind Shays on ''L.A. Law'' and Dr. Katherine Pulaski in the second season of '' Star Trek: The Next Generation''. She appeared in two episodes of '' Star Trek: The Original Series'' in the late 1960s, playing different roles (Drs. Miranda Jones and Ann Mulhall).
