Biddle, Montana
Biddle is a village in southeastern Powder River County, Montana, United States, near the Little Powder River. It lies along Highway 59, south of the town of Broadus, the county seat of Powder River County. The post office was established in 1916 with Charles Schofield as postmaster. It was later taken over by Roland Rumph and in 2010 the post office was built and is currently ran by USPS. The town's name came from S. F. B. Biddle, former owner of the large Cross Ranch, now currently owned by Nathan and Connie Rumph. Demographics As of 2020, the estimated population of Biddle is 28. Biddle Island is located in the Wabash River, in downtown Logansport, Indiana Logansport is a city in and the county seat of Cass County, Indiana, United States. Biddle Motor Car Company
The Biddle Motor Car Company manufactured luxury automobiles in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1915 to 1922. "Information, rather than Persuasive Sales Talk" was the advertising slogan of the company, which was noted for its conservative advertising. The company produced six models, with the heaviest weighing 2,950 pounds with a four-cylinder engine being sold for $3475. The company was incorporated in October 1915 and presented finished automobiles at the Philadelphia Auto Show in January 1916. It was namesake of the Biddle family, although R. Ralston Biddle did not seem to have a major role beyond lending the name. Car was an assembled car manufactured in Philadelphia. The first bodies were believed to be from the Fleetwood body company in Fleetwood, Pennsylvania. Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) is a private historically black university in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA) and accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The university awards Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work degrees. History Johnson C. Smith University was established on April 7, 1867, as the Biddle Memorial Institute at a meeting of the Catawba Presbytery in the old Charlotte Presbyterian Church. Mary D. Biddle donated $1,400 to the school. The school was then named after her late husband, Henry Jonathan Biddle, who had died after the Battle of Glendale in 1862.
