Bicester Avenue Home and Garden Centre is a shopping centre in Bicester, Oxfordshire, England, that opened in May 2007, HPW Architecture Ltd were the architects and designers. Some of the stores at Bicester Avenue include Bicester Avenue Garden Centre, owned by Blue Diamond Garden Centres, World of Water tropical fish shop, Lakeland and Cotswold Outdoor. The large garden centre contains a soft play area for children. Lakeland Limited is a chain of British kitchenware stores in the United Kingdom. It is still based where it was founded in Windermere in the Lake District, the area the company is named after. History Alan Rayner, an agricultural feed salesman, had the idea of providing local farmers with polythene bags for packing poultry. He set up a mail order business with his wife Dorothy, supplying agricultural plastics and home-freezing products from the garage of their Windermere home in the Lake District. Bicester Village is a designer outlet shopping centre on the outskirts of Bicester, a town in Oxfordshire, England. It is owned by Value Retail plc. The centre opened in 1995. The centre is the second most visited location in the United Kingdom by Chinese tourists, after Buckingham Palace. Expansion On 17 April 2015 Cherwell District Council approved plans to demolish the nearby Tesco store and to construct a further 28 retail units and an extra 519 parking spaces.
