Bica (coffee)
is the term commonly used in certain areas of Portugal for a ('coffee' in Portuguese) that is similar to espresso, but extracted to a greater volume than its Italian counterpart (akin to a lungo in Italy) and a little bit smoother in taste, due to the Portuguese roasting process being slightly lighter than the Italian one. In almost all regions in Portugal, it is simply called ('a coffee' in Portuguese) and always served in a demitasse cup. Carlos Bica is a Portuguese jazz bassist. Career Bica studied at the Academia dos Amadores de Musica in Lisbon and the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg. The Bay Islands Conservation Association (BICA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization founded in 1991 in the Bay Islands in Honduras in order to initiate and coordinate efforts in protecting the fragile natural resources of its three islands. In theory anyone approved by the relevant government ministry can act as an independent auditor, but in practice, all auditors are members of BICA. Camillo Mac Bica is an American philosopher, poet, activist, and author. Biography Bica was born on January 7, 1947, in Brooklyn. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Long Island University in 1968 and a Master of Arts from New York University in 1986. He then attended the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where he received a Master's of Philosophy in 1993 and a Ph.D in Philosophy in 1995. Since 1990, he has served as a professor at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City where he teaches courses in philosophy, peace studies, and war.
